Best Hospital-Website 2008

The website of the Schüchtermann-Klinik wins "Germany’s Best Hospital Website 2008" competition.

"Germany’s Best Hospital Website" is the largest and most renowned competition of its kind throughout Germany.  For the past 6 years, the event has been sponsored by Novartis and organised by the Heidelberger Institut für Medizinmarketing and the GIT Verlag.

For the 2008 competition, each of the 334 participating hospitals had been assessed on the basis of a catalogue comprising more than 100 criteria. Afterwards, a jury of four independent experts chose the winners. The jury members were Günter Schigulski (Verband der Krankenhausdirektoren Deutschlands e.V.), Hannelore Loskill (Vice-President of the Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft Selbsthilfe e.V.), Dr. Dr. Frank Elste (Medical Director of the Heidelberger Institut für Medizinmarketing) and Michael Reiter
(IT & Communications department of the GIT Verlag).

The Schüchtermann-Klinik’s website was completely redesigned in 2008 and is based on the free ZMS 2.11-System.  It convinced both the experts involved and the jury with its high quality in terms of technology, target group orientation and user-friendly design. The editorial team was made up of staff members from all clinical departments; they rejuvenated the new website of the Schüchtermann-Klinik and focussed on making the information easier to understand. Andreas Lissberg, Head of Patient and Quality Management, coordinated the editorial work and the work in terms of content. The technical features of the website were developed by the hospital’s IT Department.

“Our joint success in this competition has motivated us to continue with the development of our website regarding its technical features and contents; there is no lack of ideas in this respect”, says Andreas Lissberg when asked about the website endeavours for the next year.
