Certification

Quality and organisation under scrutiny

Certification is a method to verify the compliance with defined standards (here: quality and organisation standards). Certifications are always performed by impartial external entities as this ensures an independent and neutral approach.

During annual audits external health experts of the TÜV-Rheinland check the procedures applied in the Schüchtermann-Klinik, among others according to the international DIN EN ISO 9001 standard.

The Schüchtermann-Klinik has been certified according to the international DIN EN ISO 9001 standard since 2001. As one of the first cardiac centres in Germany the Schüchtermann-Klinik has achieved to obtain a certification of all clinical and non-clinical areas.

Besides, the rehabilitation division of the Schüchtermann-Klinik provides proof of complying with the high quality standards required within the certification process of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Prävention und Rehabilitation von Herz-Kreislauferkrankungen e. V. (DGPR).

The quality of our food supply is evaluated within the scope of an external certification performed by the Gütegemeinschaft Diät and Vollkost e. V..

Under the motto "Determined to defy pain" the Schüchtermann-Klinik belongs to the small group of German hospitals that was able to implement the standards specified by the "Initiative Schmerzfreie Klinik" (painless-hospital initiative). The management of postoperative pain in the Schüchtermann-Klinik is TÜV-certified since 2008.

Since 2011 the new Chest Pain Unit is certified by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Kardiologie - Herz- and Kreislaufforschung e.V. (DGK, German Cardiac Society).
