All relevant procedures, the so-called "processes" of the hospital, have been visualised in detail both by graphical representations and by describing individual work steps. The analysis, evaluation and improvement of the treatment and supporting processes are rendered possible when using this tool, because the diversity of complex and intertwining work sequences becomes clear and manageable.

The most important part of the process visualisation is the depiction of the bindingly determined treatment and therapy standards. The so-called treatment paths specify the sequence of the treatment and care for a patient in a chronological order. The quality of patient care is assured by adhering to clearly established procedures and responsibilities.
