Cardiac Catheterisation department

Four separate catheter laboratories are available to our patients, which are co-ordinated by the cardiac catheter control centre. Here, both diagnostic and therapeutic catheter interventions are performed. Modern medical technology and experienced specialists accompany the patients through all of the measures that are performed with the help of a cardiac catheter.

Diagnostic catheter and X-ray procedures

  • left ventricular catheterisation, including coronary angiography, laevocardiography
  • right ventricular catheterisation, including shunt diagnosis
  • Guide wire method (FFR)
  • Intravascular ultrasound (IVUS)
  • Electrophysiological study (EPS)

Therapeutic catheter procedures

  • balloon dilatation of the coronary vessels (PTCA) and stent Implantation
  • use of conventional, drug-releasing, resorbable stents
  • rotablation (use of a rotablator for the treatment of severely calcified vessels)
  • recanalisation of chronic total occlusions of the coronary artery (CTO)
  • balloon dilatation (PTA) at the arteries outside the heart and stent implantation (including the aorta)
  • obliteration of pathologically changed tissue in the heart (ablation) in case of complex cardiac dysrhythmias and atrial fibrillation
