Surgical intensive care unit
The new cardiosurgical intensive and intermediate care unit, which was inaugurated on 6 February 2009 in the presence of the Prime Minister of Niedersachsen Christian Wulff, sets standards in convenience for patients and their relatives. The altogether 26 intensive and 25 intermediate care beds on over 3,200m² have been designed and equipped according to the latest psychological and intensive care aspects. In addition to
22 double rooms there are also 7 single rooms.
Light and spacious rooms, warm colours, generously proportioned lounges and direct access to the adjacent park are characteristic features of the new ward.
Since we make use of the most sophisticated medical technology, we can not only provide the routine intensive care after surgery but also look after very seriously ill patients in the best conceivable manner. The surgical intensive care unit covers among others the following therapies:
- various circulatory support methods
- differentiated types of artificial respiration
- kidney replacements
- liver replacements
In September 2009 the new cardiosurgical intensive and intermediate care unit was honoured by the foundation Nursing e.V. with the certificate "Relatives always welcome!".
