Indications for a follow-up curative treatment

A follow-up curative treatment (German abbreviation: AHB) designates a medical rehabilitation scheme immediately after an acute treatment in hospital or closely connected to it. In the Schüchtermann-Klinik the follow-up curative treatment is offered for patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases with the following indications:

  • after an acute heart attack
  • after balloon dilatation or stent implantation
  • after a coronary bypass surgery
  • after a cardiac valve surgery
  • after a surgical correction of congenital heart defects (cardiac septum)
  • after a heart transplantation
  • after implantation of a left ventricular supporting system
  • after other heart surgeries (e.g. aneurysmectomy, ICD implantation)
  • in case of a coronary heart disease without acute heart attack
  • in case of a cardiomyopathy or other cardiac insufficiency
  • after inflammatory heart diseases
  • after pulmonary embolism
  • in case of arterial and venous circulatory disturbances
  • after surgery of the arterial and venous vascular system
