Rehabilitation
The rehabilitation department of the Schüchtermann-Klinik has a total of 179 beds. Every year we serve more than 2,500 patients within a stationary follow-up curative treatment. Our Rehabilitation department specialises not only on the curing of cardiological, angiological and cardiac surgery patients but also on the rehabilitation after heart transplantations and artificial heart implantations.
Thanks to the integrated approach of our hospital and the trans-departmental cooperation with the hospital divisions handling acute diseases our rehabilitation patients benefit from short treatment channels, seamless transitions between the individual medical care stages and optimally concerted diagnostic and therapeutic measures.
A follow-up curative treatment or a general curative process usually extends over a period of 3 weeks. After completion of the stationary rehabilitation scheme there are different options for the outpatient aftercare such as e.g. the intensified rehabilitation aftercare program (IRENA) of the German Pension Fund or the participation in an ambulant cardiac group.
Under the menu item "Details on the Speciality Division" we inform you about the medical indications for a follow-up curative treatment, the therapy goals and contents as well as about the major departments of our Speciality Division.
