HYGIENE
We increasingly read and hear in the media about infections acquired in hospital settings – or “nosocomial infections”. We wish to prevent these and therefore offer our patients and staff the greatest possible protection. Our qualified hygiene team ensures compliance with the above-average hygiene standards at our facility.
The HYGIENE TEAM currently consists of a hospital hygienist, four doctors trained in hygiene, three hygiene specialists, one hygiene specialist in training and a total of 16 hygiene officers from the nursing and operational services. The team advises on routine hygiene measures as well as for specific diseases or disease outbreaks.
Regular further training ensures that our staff are up to date with the latest scientific findings and thus able to meet binding hygiene standards. Our hygiene department is involved in various NETWORKS AND WORKING GROUPS, both regionally and nationally. Our patients also benefit from close cooperation and a constant professional exchange with the Lower Saxony State Health Authority(NLGA).
The hospital was commended for its conscious approach to prevention in the area of hand hygiene and received the gold certificate as part of its involvement with the “AKTION Saubere Hände” (Clean Hands Campaign). The hospital was also certified for its participation in the modules of the Hospital Infection Surveillance System (KISS) by the National Reference Centre for Surveillance of Nosocomial Infections.
