CARDIOLOGY
State-of-the-art diagnostic options and patient-focused therapy approaches are the hallmarks of the Schüchtermann-Klinik’s cardiology department. The department is divided into six sub-departments that specialise in different disorders and treatment options.
The cardiology department works closely with the other specialist departments at the Schüchtermann-Klinik. This integrated care of all heart patients is the clinic’s special trademark: alongside diagnosis and treatment, which are often discussed in the interdisciplinary heart team, the clinic can also offer preventative medicine and performance diagnostic services in the Institute for Prevention and Sports Medicine. In addition, patients have all the options for outpatient and inpatient cardiology rehabilitation thanks to the clinic’s own rehabilitation department and the cooperation with medicos.Osnabrück.
Heart Center OSNABRÜCK, BAD ROTHENFELDE
The cardiology department of the Schüchtermann-Klinik is part of the Herzzentrum Osnabrück-Bad Rothenfelde Management GmbH. The heart centre is jointly operated by Schüchtermann-Schiller’schen Kliniken Bad Rothenfelde GmbH & Co. KG, Klinikum Osnabrück GmbH and, since 2003, Marienhospital Osnabrück GmbH. The centre provides comprehensive cardiology acute and emergency care for all patients with heart disease in the region of the city and district of Osnabrück.
To find three different hospital operators cooperating like this is unique nationwide. Numerous synergy effects are achieved through the definition of key diagnostic and therapeutic specialisms coupled with the ability to exchange staff and make better use of capital medical equipment.
In addition to the cooperation with other hospitals in the district of Osnabrück and beyond, the heart centre concept also includes cooperation with regional and national specialist practices. Quarterly meetings in the Osnabrück Cardiology Quality Network are held with cardiology specialists, general physicians and general practitioners to jointly discuss diagnoses and treatment strategies. This allows uniform cardiology standards to be established and common quality standards to be maintained.
